As you can see, training conditions improved a lot! Sights along the ride to Mt.Gretna included the pig roaster?, a hand carved archway, a commo boat, and a newborn calf...still wet.
Hey Barb, Wasn't sure if I got to say so, but "Good Luck" on the trip. I'll be following your trip, checking in everyday or so. I'm gonna share your info with the folks in my small group @ church, some of which are going on the same Haiti trip as I am this July. See you later!
Welcome
Hi to all!
2010 will be quite the year for me- I'll turn 60, learn how to use a smart phone (probably smarter than me!), do a blog, and cycle 3,777 miles across the US raising funds for www.BeyondBorders.net !
Hope you'll go to their web site & make a donation. Click on the yellow "Donate Now" button & put Barb's Bike Trip in the "Additional Feedback" section. I'm trying to raise $2 per mile ($7,554) since 80% of Haitians live on less than $2 a day. As you well know, they were devastated by an earthquake in January in addition to the 4 hurricanes in 2009.
Next post will include my route map and itinerary, so please check in again.
Posts will be infrequent till my departure from Yorktown, VA on May 7, 2010.
